Mojang Studios, the game studio behind the popular Minecraft sandbox, has said it will not integrate non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into its project. Also, the company, despite current trends, refused to support blockchain technology.

According to the developers, the introduction of NFT would violate the company's strategy of providing all players with the same content. The integration of non-fungible tokens into the project is directly related to the likely shortage of any coins on the market. This means that the user experience of a significant part of the players will be violated, explained their decision in the studio.

Minecraft developers refused to add NFTs to the game

Speaking about the risks of using blockchain technology, the gaming company noted that they fear the growth of speculation in Minecraft. The focus on market relations, including the sale of skins and game items, would lead to diverting the attention of players from the game itself and its key game mechanics, the developers are sure.

At the same time, the creators of Minecraft are closely following the development of the blockchain. They assured that they do not reject the possibility of introducing NFT and other systems based on this technology in the future. The only condition is their compliance with the current principles of the company.
