What is the Walken app?
Walken is a blockchain NFT game that allows you to walk, run and earn money, and which combines sports and NFTs, focusing on the natural walking and moving. Walking in real life, players earn Gems, with which they improve their game characters - Cathlets, and compete for winnings in $WLKN tokens.
In turn, the tokens can be used to increase the level and characteristics of Catlhets, or to buy NFT items on the Marketplace in order to receive additional stat points and win more competitions. The Walken team is currently working on adding additional ways to use tokens (such as crossbreeding, tournaments, etc.) to improve the gaming experience and give players the opportunity to earn even more.
The gameplay focuses on upgrading your pets, the Cathets, and competing with them in competitions that reward you with $WLKN tokens. Steps completed in real life are converted into Gems, an in-game currency that can be spent on leveling up your pets. With each increase in the level of Cathlet, his characteristics grow - strength (Strength), speed (Speed) and endurance (Stamina). Thus, the more a player walks in real life, the better Cathlet's stats become, and the more often he wins competitions, earning even more $WLKN in the long run.
Tokenomics and distribution of $WLKN
The Walken tokenomics is fueled by only one token, the $WLKN token, which has a limited supply and will also be traded on exchanges. Therefore, its price is influenced by a number of factors, the most significant of which is the behavior of players. The gameplay of Walken itself determines the best strategy for players to succeed: play, earn and reinvest $WLKN tokens in the game (buying Cathlets and equipment on the marketplace, which in turn leads to further revenue growth) to maximize your profitability.
What's more, the game balance is designed so that constantly improving your pets and acquiring more Catlets is the only way to keep earning in a highly competitive market, given that a large number of players are constantly reinvesting in the game in order to win and earn more.
How do I create an account with Walken?
The Walken app is currently available for download on the AppStore for IOS and Google Play for Android.
Once you have downloaded and installed the app, select the login method and proceed to create a new crypto wallet. Be sure to write down the 12-word recovery passphrase (seed phrase) and save it.
Why are there three wallets in the game?
There are three wallets in the game: blue, golden orange and purple, each with an important function.
- The blue wallet is used for Gems (gems), the in-game soft currency.
- Orange holds your $WLKN tokens.
- Purple is needed to store SOL, the native token of the Solana network that runs Walken. SOLs are currently used to pay transaction fees.
All wallets can be accessed from the Wallet screen to check the current Gem, Token and SOL balance, as well as view all transactions for each currency.
What is $WLKN?
$WLKN is a cryptocurrency token that can be earned in competitions or purchased in a variety of ways. $WLKN is used both to level up Catlets and to trade on the Marketplace to buy and sell various NFT items and Catlets. In addition, $WLKN can be staked to get even more profitability and various other goodies. Further, other useful features will be added for tokens, such as tournaments, time-limited events, etc.
The best way to earn more is to reinvest your $WLKN: level up your Cathlet to enter higher level leagues for even higher rewards, and buy items to increase its stats.
Catрlets are in-game NFT characters that compete and can be developed and bred. The name, as you might have guessed, came from two words: Cat + Athlete (Cat + Athlete), which alludes to both cute appearance and ability to run. Each Cathlet is generated from a unique set of genes that determine its appearance, characteristics, and rarity. The values of each of the characteristics significantly affect the chance to win in a particular running discipline.
Each Catlet has 6 genes:
Each gene is assigned stat points and each has its own rarity, which determines the maximum stats for a Catlet and its rarity. There are 5 rarity categories for Catlets, Genes, and NFT items:
- common (common);
- unusual (uncommon);
- rare (rarity);
- epic (epic);
The rarity of your pet is determined by the rarest of its genes. Rarity determines the energy pool of Cutlets: Rare, Epic, and Legendary Cutlets have more energy pools than Common and Uncommon.
What are the characteristics of Cathlets?
There are three main stats or characteristics that each Cathlet possesses: strength (strength), speed (speed) and endurance (stamina). The sets of genes that shape the characteristics are random and unique, and there are also genetically predetermined maximums of endurance, strength and speed.
Cathlet's stats increase with each level increase by 10% of their potential maximum. Moreover, items from the Marketplace also improve performance. So there is always room for improvement!
How to increase the level of Cathlet?
- First, use Gems to fill your Cathlet's level progress bar
- Open the Cathlets tab (on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen);
- Select the Cathlet you want to level up;
- Scroll down to the level indicator;
- Press the "+" button and select the number of Gems you want to add to the progress bar.
Once the progress bar with Gems is full, the "+" button will turn orange with an up arrow. You can press it if you have enough $WLKN to level up.
What is a Competition?
Cathlets compete in running events to win $WLKN tokens. Competitions are held in 6 leagues. There is a minimum starting Cathlet level for each league, and the higher the league, the higher the rewards for winning.
All Cathlets can participate in the first league. To enter the second league, the game character must have at least the second, for the third - 4, for the fourth - 6, for the fifth - 8, and in the 6th league only Cathlets of level 10 compete. As such, players need to continuously improve their Cathlets in order to move up to the higher leagues and earn even more $WLKN.
Each league has three running disciplines: sprint, marathon and urban running . Each run costs one point of energy, which is restored over time. Each parameter of Cathlet's characteristics affects the chances of winning in a particular running discipline.
Speed plays a major role in winning sprints, strength in city running, endurance in marathons. After choosing a Catlet and a discipline, the Walken algorithms quickly find an opponent of an equal level among other players, after which the race begins.
How to compete?
- Click "Competitions" on the navigation bar in the application;
- Choose the league in which your pet will compete;
- Choose a discipline in the league;
- Choose Cathlet to run;
Wait for the algorithms to find an opponent for you. As soon as it is found, the competition will start automatically. If your Cathlet wins the race, all you have to do is press the button to claim your reward. If you lose, don't worry, try again next time!
- Compete in the highest league available to your Catlet to earn as much $WLKN as possible.
- Choose the discipline in which your Catlet has the highest chance of winning, based on the highest of his stats, to play at his best.
You can also search the Marketplace for items that can improve the stats you need.
Also, as you may have noticed, on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen there is a Marketplace tab where all trading takes place. Here, players can buy or sell various NFT items, including clothing, shoes, and accessories, as well as the Cathlets themselves.
Items on the Marketplace vary in rarity and bonus points for stats given to your pets. Each item from the T-shirts, Hats, Sneakers, Shorts, Accessories, and Artifacts categories enhances Cathlet's stats by adding a certain amount of Strength, Speed, or Stamina points. Use filters by category or feature to quickly find the product you need.
