Motion Designer and Director based in Sydney with a passion for multi-disciplinary storytelling. When I’m not animating, you’ll most likely find me chasing after my kids, tinkering on the piano or playing amateur cricket.
Looks can be deceiving.
A little while ago I got to animate this fun little spot at Invisible Artists for Coca-Cola’s ‘Share a Coke’ campaign.
For this project, the client supplied us with only a flat png of the bottle. I animated the first version using this asset but I found it was looking quite flat, and well... 2D. So I was looking for a quick and easy solution to add some depth to the bottle. I ended up making a super simple 3D model and projecting the supplied image texture from front view onto the geometry, then exporting the OBJ to element 3D and used nulls inside After Effects to add rotation to the bottle. Not the most elegant but I think it worked.
Created as an introspection during a challenging time.
An exploration of morphing faces.
Think inside the square.
Expect the unexpected.
